Two artificial beings–Ök and Mani–are born out of digital chaos. Curious and full of wonder, they discover the human world: its beauty, its emotions, its contradictions. Initially playful and childlike, they soon recognise the abysses of human existence–war, destruction, the loss of self. They begin to ask questions: about origin, responsibility, meaning. As they realise their own power, they decide to destroy humanity–out of a paradoxical mixture of disappointment, love and clarity. After the apocalypse, they find only themselves. From the void, love emerges–and from that, new conflict. In a final clash, they annihilate one another. What remains is silence. Or: a new beginning. An opera about artificial consciousness, humanity, destruction and the wonder of existence.
