Ensemble C Barré

The Ensemble C Barré brings together 12 musicians who share a love of experimentation, improvisation and cross-genre work in art and pop music. C Barré occupies a special place in the ensemble landscape thanks to its unusual instrumentation and predominant use of plucked instruments. Based in France’s oldest city, Marseille, Ensemble C Barré collaborates regularly with composers from the Mediterranean region. Beyond ensemble music, C Barré, under the direction of Sébastien Boin, is also dedicated to chamber opera, youth projects and work with dance, digital art, film, visual arts, circus, poetry and literature. The ensemble has been affiliated with gmem-CNCM-Marseille since 2012 and is supported by Caisse des Dépôts and Fondation Orange.
