Neue Vocalsolisten

VOICE AFFAIRS combines the Neue Vocalsolisten with Arab artists. The result is artistic border crossings in which contemporary European art music is infected by the diversity of Lebanon’s experimental music scene.

VOICE AFFAIRS focuses on Beirut and Lebanon as an explosive and creative place and symbol for the interconnectedness of the Arab world with Europe and the worldwide diaspora. Characterised by the most diverse and contradictory influences, Lebanon has a multifaceted art scene that radiates throughout the Middle East and is in lively exchange with European scenes. The music scene there is characterised by a great variety of traditional, experimental and electronic music, jazz, post-rock, avant-pop, sound art and improvisation. As in all musical cultures of the Mediterranean region, the voice plays a central role.
