Zaid Jabri was born in Damascus in 1975. After studying violin in his hometown, he pursued composition studies at the Academy of Music in Krakow. Jabri is currently completing his PhD at this institution, where he has also held a teaching position since 2008. He has received multiple awards for his compositions. In 2001, he became a member of the Polish Composers’ Union. As a representative of Syria, Jabri was invited to the inaugural celebrations of the Institute for Contemporary Music of the Middle East at Brunel University in London. Zaid Jabri lives and works in Krakow.
