Amr Okba

Amr Okba was born in 1972. After training in piano and music theory at the Institute of Arabic Music and the Faculty of Music Education, Okba completed studies in Management and Business Administration, also in Egypt. He then pursued composition and conducting studies at the Cairo Conservatory. In 1998, he received the Rome Prize, which included a multi-year stay in Italy. Further studies followed at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and the University of Music in Vienna. Works by Amr Okba have been performed at events such as the Salzburg Biennale, the Bregenz Festival, and MaerzMusik Berlin. Amr Okba lives in Vienna and Cairo.
