Münchener Biennale

Up Close and Personal
Composition: Kaj Duncan David
Choreography and video: Troels Primdahl
Daniel Gloger, countertenor (Neue Vocalsolisten)
Co-production of the Munich Biennale with Music of the Centuries Stuttgart
Cooperation with whiteBOX.art Munich.
As a sought-after countertenor and performer, Daniel Gloger devotes himself completely to his work. Performing in a different city every week and rarely sleeping in his own bed, he lives a nomadic lifestyle that requires absolute dedication. The boundaries between his work and private life are blurred. To counteract this state of affairs, Gloger tries to optimize his »ME time.« He practices meditation, tries to respect his body’s needs, takes time for relaxation exercises and expands his intellectual horizons by means of literature, music and art. However, he lives in a time when personal and spiritual well-being can be realized even with a tight schedule, thanks to a variety of intelligent solutions. In the whiteBOX, where Gloger has moved into a guest apartment, the artist offers Biennale viewers the opportunity to visit him on site on several days during the festival period and gain insight into the peculiarities of his daily routines and his very own private lifestyle.
