We’ve all experienced it: one sits at the computer and can’t remember the password. countless combinations of letters and words float around in one’s mind, a process of trial and error begins… The most varied returning, mutually incompatible phrases, in many languages, twisted and turned around, vague notions when something seems to fit together–and finally that moment of salvation when the code is cracked. With passwords, the years of fruitful collaboration between Georges Aperghis and the Neue Vocalsolisten move towards entirely new sonic and energetic worlds.
Márton Illés likewise wanted to make his first work for the singers tailor-made for them. Francesca Verunelli imagines her Conzon for cello as a kind of ‘intentionless intensity, without any »ego«, so to speak, stretched to an extreme and ultimately reaching an unbearable point.
